What
is a Ouija Board?
The
Ouija Board is an alphabet board with a pointer or glass used for various
forms of divination or spirit contact.
A
survey in 1994 indicated that next to Monopoly, a Ouija board was the
next more popular form of game played by young people between the ages
of 10 and 14! We see, therefore, that it is seen as both
a game and a specific occult tool.
Many
people have “played” with a Ouija board, only to find to their horror
that they are playing with forces beyond their control.
Is
it Dangerous?
The
strong and obvious answer is, yes, very! Leading occultists and
psychic researchers have declared it dangerous and one has even said
that the majority of possession cases result from involvement with the
Ouija board.
One
psychic researcher declared: “It is
common that people who get into this sort of game think of themselves
as having been ‘chosen’ for a special task. The ouija board will often
say so, either directly or by implication…. sitters may find themselves
using the board or automatic writing compulsively, as if ‘possessed’
by a spirit, or hearing voices that control and command them. This is
no longer rare. I’d say it is now so frequent as to be common.”

Out
of Control
Most
of us like to feel that we are in control of our situations, but users
of the Ouija board find again and again that the board, not they, is
in control. This is one of the most interactive forms of occult guidance
used, but it is not you, the sitter, who is in control!
The
Dangers (Continued)
It
is interesting to note that those who shout loudest about the dangers
are those who are involved in the occult in various ways: 
One
medium, a doctor, wrote many years ago of “the
cases of several persons whose seemingly harmless experiences with automatic
writing and the ouija board resulted in such wild insanity that commitment
to asylums was necessitated .”
Another
noted occultist, considered to be one of the leading authorities on
the occult in this century wrote in the middle of this century,
“During the last 20-25 years I have had considerable
personal experience with persons who have complicated their lives through
dabbling with the Ouija board. Out of every hundred such cases, at least
95 are worse off for the experience… I know of broken homes, estranged
families, and even suicides that can be traced directly to this source.”
Another
testified: “The ‘voices’ and other
eerie stuff began when he and his sister started playing around with
a Ouija board a few years ago he recalls. This led to nightmares, creeping
depression, and a suicide attempt.”
“There
are also hundreds of cases of innocent or naïve occult involvement leading
to spirit possession, insanity, financial ruin, adultery, divorce, criminal
acts (even murder), and other tragedies as the books of… occultism and
parapsychology proves”

Blatant
Occult Power
It
is quite clear that the use of the Ouija board gives an invitation to
demonic powers (as the Bible describes them) to operate quite blatantly.

What
if I’ve dabbled?
The
fact that you are willingly reading these notes provides hope. The battle
is for your mind and for your spirit.
God
is the Lord who is all-powerful and who is able to deliver you through
the name of Jesus Christ.
The
following are stages to help set you free:
•
Acknowledge God as the Lord who loves you and who has sent His Son,
Jesus Christ, to die
in your place to take the punishment for your sin.
•
Ask God to forgive you for all known sins and specifically for any
occult activity you have
been involved in.
•
Renounce all involvement in such activity and declare that, with God’s
help, you will never
get involved in it again.
•
Daily surrender your life to God and ask Him to reveal His
will to you so that you may be
obedient to Him.
•
Seek to pray and to read the Bible on a daily basis to learn God’s
will for you.
•
Join a church and learn what it means to be a Christian on a daily
basis.
As
you follow these guidelines, and you may need the help of a Christian
leader or counsellor, you will find God cleansing you from past occult
involvement and setting you free to live your life knowing His love
working in you.
Getting
to the Heart of the Matter
At
the heart of the subject of “Occult Guidance” is the question, “Who
will we go to when we have questions?”. You, along with many others,
may have gone to occult activities to satisfy inner needs that you have.
Only now are you realising that this was a wrong path to take.
God
shows Himself in the Bible to be The Almighty Creator of all things.
He also comes to show Himself to us as a loving heavenly Father. He
wants us to come to Him as little children and bring all our questions
and queries to Him in prayer (which is simply talking out loud to Him).
He revealed Himself in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ, so that
we could understand something of His love for us.
Contrasts
Be
clear in your mind: it’s either God or evil powers you’ll relate to
if you go looking for answers; light or darkness, goodness or evil.
If
you use a Ouija board there is every chance you will encounter demonic
powers, darkness and evil.
Perhaps
now is the time to be released from those things you dabbled with in
the past. Now is the time to turn from darkness to light.
Can

Involvement
with a Ouija board can leave us with a legacy of fear and an unnatural
interest in even more occult activity. Often it leads us into
more things that, deep within us, we know are not good, indeed
they are evil.
Perhaps
you need setting free from this, perhaps to restore peace to your life.
That can come in the knowledge of God’s love through Jesus Christ.
